Course Description –

This course explains the basic elements of supported scaffold safety and introduces students to the nature of supported scaffold hazards. During the course, the emphasis is placed on the role of the scaffold user in accident prevention, which includes scaffold inspections, fall protection, recognizing hazards, and responding to emergencies. This course covers the requirements for safe construction and use of scaffolding using OSHA’s construction scaffold standards as a guide. Course topics include hazards associated with scaffold design, assembly, disassembly, and use, types of scaffolds, determining scaffold capacity, employee qualifications and training and maintenance, repair, and inspection requirements.

Who Should Attend?

This course is designed for construction workers, construction superintendents, managers and supervisors of projects where the use of supported scaffolds is required. This course will provide the students the knowledge and skills to assemble, work from and disassemble a supported scaffold, and prevent injuries due to falls.

CEU’s –

Participants will earn 0.3 CEUs from the Florida Chamber Safety Council upon successful completion of this class.
