Public Trainings - OSHA Heat Stress Prevention

Course Description –

OSHA’s Heat Illness Prevention campaign, launched in 2011, educates employers and workers on the dangers of working in the heat. Our safety message comes down to three keywords: Water. Rest. Shade. The key to preventing excessive heat stress is knowing the hazards of working in heat and the benefits of implementing proper controls and work practices.

Every year, dozens of workers die and thousands more become ill while working in extreme heat or humid conditions.

There are a wide range of heat illnesses and they can affect anyone, regardless of age or physical condition. Heat is a year-round job hazard in a variety of workplaces. In this course, you will learn the hazards associated while working in the heat and review Engineering and Work Practice Controls. We will also discuss how to recognize symptoms of Heat Exhaustion, Heat Stroke and Heat Rashes, and how to respond with the proper procedures to take in case there is an emergency.
