George Zamora

Director of Safety
City Furniture

George Zamora is a long-time resident of Florida having moved to the state from Costa Rica when he was five years old. He is now the Director of Safety for City Furniture, having served previously as Senior Safety Manager. In his role, he oversees all of City Furniture’s Occupational Health and Safety programs and the organization’s Fleet Safety programs. His team is responsible for the safe operation of over 140 delivery vehicles, a fleet of tractor trailers, and oversees the health and safety of more than 2,700 associates across 34 showrooms and 3 distribution centers.

In his career, George has learned that a culture of safety extends to so much more than just a work environment; it is about educating the worker, coaching the leaders to make meaningful connections that spark up the kind of conversations that improve the environment for everyone. George’s passion comes from the opportunity to contribute and enact change in a way that will impact people’s lives.

George earned his B.S. in Public Health from Boston College and has his Associate in Risk Management (ARM). He is also an OSHA-Certified trainer for both OSHA 1926 Standards Training for Construction and OSHA 1910 Standards Training for General Industry.
