At the 2022 Southeastern Leadership Conference on Safety, Health + Sustainability March 30 – April 1 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, we brought together safety, health, and sustainability leaders from across Florida and the Southeast to join us in our mission to make Florida the safest, the healthiest and most sustainable state in America. While at the conference, attendees were able to gain valuable expertise and knowledge through professional development courses and networking opportunities as well as presentations from three nationally-recognized keynote speakers and the choice of 24 different breakout sessions.

On Wednesday, March 30, we hosted three professional development courses for safety professionals to earn CEUs and to network and make connections with other professionals in their field. We then kicked off the conference with an Opening Ceremony and a Welcome Reception that included a live performance from The Spazmatics in the Exhibit Hall.

Thursday, March 31 we began with a keynote address from Mike Rowe, the host of the hit TV show Dirty Jobs, and he highlighted the importance of personal accountability in the workplace and his concept “Safety Third.” During lunch, keynote Bill Yeargin, CEO of Correct Craft discussed c-suite leadership and how to build a corporate culture. In the evening, we attendees were treated to a Disney Magic Dinner followed by a trivia contest to test their knowledge of safety, health and sustainability,  and closed out the day with a Disney fireworks show complete with dessert and libations.

On the final day of the conference, Friday, April 1,  keynote speaker, Dr. Henry Cloud, a New York Times Bestselling Author and Psychologist, discussed how multifaceted human behavior affects safety in the workplace. We then concluded with a magical close with Comedian, Motivational Speaker and Magician, Mark Robinson.
