Jason Mozo Joins the Florida Chamber of Commerce to lead the Florida Chamber Safety Council as Statewide Executive Director

TALLAHASSEE, FL (MAY 11, 2021)— The Florida Chamber Safety Council today announced Jason Mozo has joined the Florida Chamber team serving as Executive Director, bringing over 15 years of safety and business development experience to the enterprise. Safety is a top priority for Florida’s business leaders, and under the leadership of Jason Mozo, the Florida Chamber Safety Council will further its work to unite Florida’s business community around a movement of creating a culture of safety, health and sustainability across each of Florida’s 67 counties.

“The Florida Chamber Safety Council was recently created as part of the Florida Chamber’s six-year strategic plan and comes as Florida is on target to add 2 million jobs by 2030,” said Florida Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Mark Wilson. “With the addition of Jason to our team, we are moving the mission forward towards achieving the 39 goals of the Florida 2030 Blueprint and making Florida the safest, healthiest and most sustainable state in America as we prepare for the 26 million Floridians who will call Florida home by 2030.”

An incubator for research, leadership and education, the Florida Chamber Safety Council is the first organization of its kind to serve as the statewide resource for fostering safety, health and sustainability among Florida businesses. As the official Florida chapter of the National Safety Council, the Florida Chamber Safety Council fulfills Florida’s need for a leading organization focused solely on preventing workplace injuries and deaths, and proactively fostering health and sustainability through research to track benchmarks, private and public trainings and its annual Southeastern Leadership Conference on Safety, Health + Sustainability for safety, health and sustainability leaders.

“The Florida Chamber Safety Council serves a powerful role for all businesses, but particularly small to mid-size businesses that often don’t have full-time safety, health and sustainability expertise on staff,” said Florida Chamber Safety Council President Katie Yeutter. “The experience and best practices Jason will offer to Florida’s businesses alongside those of the Florida Chamber Safety Council Advisory Board will help us create a world-class culture of safety in Florida.”

The Safety Council works every day to connect with Florida companies to provide safety solutions that match the needs of every business through an extensive training program, offering a suite of training solutions which includes private trainings where our Senior Safety Manager visits a company to deliver 1-on-1 trainings to its employees, public trainings hosted across Florida, and an online, on-demand safety training platform that allows businesses across Florida to set up safety trainings for their employee from the comfort of their computer.

Jason Mozo is a graduate of Barry University’s School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctor Degree. Throughout his career, Jason has assisted in the development of safety trainings and programs for a variety of companies, including Honeywell, Nestle, Red Bull, Lockheed Martin, Tropicana, Budweiser, and United Rentals to name a few.
